Welcome to Reading Rayners

Welcome one and all to my book blog.

What are my plans for this blog? Well, the short answer is that I am going to try to review all the books I’ve been reading, as well as talk about general book and reading related items from time to time.

What do I read? I read mostly what would be considered genre fiction. That is, I generally read science fiction and fantasy novels, with a smattering of spy novels and horror.

How much do I read? Depending on how much else is going on around here (and, of course, the size of the book), I finish one book every one to two weeks.

What are my goals for the blog? I am shooting for one review post per week. There may be other posts, but I want to get one review up per week. Between my current reading list and the backlog of books I have finished over the last year or so (i.e., the ones that are still fresh enough to review reasonably), I think I should be able to keep up with that frequency.

What are my reading goals? My biggest goal is to read all of the Hugo and Nebula award winning novels. I have made a dent in that list, but I still have a long way to go. I am not reading those novels exclusively, however. There are still plenty of other books I enjoy out there. Recently, I have started working my way through Ian Fleming’s James Bond novels.

So that’s Reading Rayners. Enjoy!
