Leo summed up the list better than I ever could: 20 Ways to Get Free or Cheap Books, and Give Away Your Old Ones.
Personally, I use BookMooch and PaperBackSwap mainly. They are both fast and easy to use. PaperBackSwap also has a wonderful feature where you can maintain a list of books you will be reading and it can tell you which books are on a wish list (i.e., they will be requested by other site users when available). And when you’re ready to post them to the system, it’s just one click.
Want any of the books I have sitting around? I’m ‘rayners’ on both sites.
Just a few hours ago, I sent out twelve of them!
Welcome one and all to my book blog.
What are my plans for this blog? Well, the short answer is that I am going to try to review all the books I’ve been reading, as well as talk about general book and reading related items from time to time.
What do I read? I read mostly what would be considered genre fiction. That is, I generally read science fiction and fantasy novels, with a smattering of spy novels and horror.
How much do I read? Depending on how much else is going on around here (and, of course, the size of the book), I finish one book every one to two weeks.
What are my goals for the blog? I am shooting for one review post per week. There may be other posts, but I want to get one review up per week. Between my current reading list and the backlog of books I have finished over the last year or so (i.e., the ones that are still fresh enough to review reasonably), I think I should be able to keep up with that frequency.
What are my reading goals? My biggest goal is to read all of the Hugo and Nebula award winning novels. I have made a dent in that list, but I still have a long way to go. I am not reading those novels exclusively, however. There are still plenty of other books I enjoy out there. Recently, I have started working my way through Ian Fleming’s James Bond novels.
So that’s Reading Rayners. Enjoy!
