Rebirth of the Vote plugin

I threw together a voting plugin a couple years ago (back in the days when MT 2.6 was new). I planned on doing more with it, but it just feel by the wayside in favor of bigger ticket plugins like SubCategories and the like.

The usefulness of a plugin that can handle vote tallying of various sorts has come up in discussions with multiple customers over the last couple weeks so I have decided to bring the Vote plugin back from the plugin graveyard. Since Movable Type has moved so far from where it was back in early 2003, I am going to to simply scrap what was left of it, but the ideas behind it are still quite relevant.

More to come as development gets ramped up!

Hi David,

nice to see this coming back down from the attic :-D I am planning a voting on our corporate site for a band-contest and have wondered for some time how to do this integrated in Movabletype. I am very excited on whats coming up ;-p

have fun!

I am working on getting the older version of this plugin running, and would be more than happy to help you beta-test your new version, if you like.

Any progress on this in the past month, David? A voting plug-in for MT would be a much-welcomed utility. TIA.

This is just what I've been looking for. Keep us all posted!

I'd really like to see a new Vote plugin too!

I went and fiddled with the old one to add support for "booths" which are just named vote sets so you can have more than one vote on a page at a time as well as doing redirects on voting. It also shows up on the list of plugins. There are also a few other minor enhancements. Check it out at http://www.unc.edu/~bungeman/mt-blog/archives/2005/10/vote_plugin.html
