Call for MultiBlog 2.0 Feature Requests

I am now knee deep in development of the next major version of MultiBlog and I would like to know if any of your MultiBlog users out there have any special requests for the plugin.

For starters, here are my current development goals:

  • Completely rework the interface
  • Expand the rebuild trigger options (trigger on comments and trackbacks in addition to publishing entries)
  • Add the option to transfer entries and comments from one blog to another
  • Add in more permissions checking to prevent users from altering rebuild and access settings for blogs to which they do not normally have access

And here are some things I would like to do, but are not as high priority:

  • Dynamic template code (may not be possible to use the blog access controls in this situation though)
  • Add permissions checking for the list of active plugins in the MT interface (not my idea)

Thank you for great plugin!! MultiBlog is great.

I've got one request about rebuild trigger options.
In addition to publishing entries, comments and trackbacks, please add "Deleting entries".

Current version of the MultiBlog does not trigger rebuild When deleting an entry. So this has been a big trouble for me...

Thank you.

More documentation. I'm a documentation junkie. As the documentation now stands, single paragraphs describe handfuls of tags all at once.

And more usage examples. Every tag and every attribute should be used in an example, that's what I say. And what I say matters.

I hereby grant you the time and the inclination to do exactly what I say. Don't worry, the universe will back me up on this one.

(By the way, in this entry your MultiBlog links are broken. Should it be wiki.rayners.org?)

I really like your plugin, MultiBlog. It is very useful, and we use it on the front page of my company's website.

If you're taking requests, I'd like to be able to specify which categories are selected by MultiBlog. Currently, the MTMultiBlogEntries tag supports the category argument, but as far as I can tell, it only supports the identification of a single category. I wish to identify several categories that might appear. For example, I may wish to identify both General Consulting and LIMS Consulting, but exclude, for example, Personal Development.

I've considered just hacking it in myself, but as long as you're taking requests, I thought, what the heck!!

Thank you for the consideration!

A happy MultiBlogger,

MultiBlog is the bomb!
It would be even greater if it would take categories per blog as input to which entries to show. (That's instead of a "general" list of categories).

This is one of the best plug-ins I've come across. Thanks for that.

It seems my major request is already in your plans, so I'm all set :D

At a minimum, I would like to selectively pull categories from blogs. For example, in one blog's main index I want all entries from that blog mixed with just one category pulled from another blog.

(So, Blog A has Category 1, 2, and 3. On Blog A's index I also want to pull only Category 2 from Blog B and show all Category 2 entries together from both blogs)

If you could allow me to map categories it would be even better. Show all entries from one blog, and map one category from another blog to a category in that blog.

(So, Blog A has Category 1, 2, and 3. On Blog A's index I also want to pull only Category 7 from Blog B but map it to Category 2, showing B's 7 and A's 2 entries together in a list of categories in A)

Hi I want to ask if we can block user from seeing blogs that they do NOT have permissions on, like the Blog list of MT does.
