Migrating plugins to MT 3.0

With MT 3.0 coming soon, I figure I should take the time to go through each and every one of my plugins and give them a thorough looking-over and scrubbing if necessary. At least make sure that they will not crash any MT 3.0 install. And update them to hopefully take as much advantage as possible of the new features coming down the pipe in MT 3.0. Basically I want to certify each of my plugins for MT 3.0.

To do this, I will need a number of willing guinea pigs volunteers (who, for the time being, have access to the beta). In return for their willingness to place their hard earned blogs in jeopardy, I promise to:

  • Give them access to bleeding edge plugin code not available to the public yet
  • Give their bug reports and feature requests highest priority
  • Free stuff! (Okay, so I am not sure about that one, but if I ever do charge for plugins, they would not be charged as much if at all)
  • Any other suggestions?

I imagine coordination would be done over a mailing list or web forum, along with a bug/feature request tracker and other fancy engineering software. And maybe I will toss in an IRC channel to boot. Who knows?

Anybody want to step forward?

If you're participating in the MT3 beta test and want to help out a plugin author as he migrates his plugins to MT3 then stop by David Raynes' blog and volunteer to help out. I'm thinking of signing up in part because he's the man behind the SubCategor... Read More

Yes I'd love to help !

Sure, David. I'll help.

I'd love to help, David. :-)

OK, count me in. Your SubCategories plugin looks to be the only hope I have for adding that functionality to my blog so I'm ready to dive in.

Sure. I don't use MT for a conventional weblog so anything concerning comments wouldn't be of use to me -- but I'd be happy give SubCategories a spin on my postcard (MT3 beta) section.

yesssss that would be excellent.

Sign me up please.

Please count me in. I'm already testing my plugins with Beta2

Hey, David? Would you PLEASE try and see what's causing 0.1.8 of Plugin Manager to continue to kill servers?

There's a bug in the tracker, but there's never been a post on it by you. Are we just out of luck?

If you still need testers, I'd be willing to help. :)

Only found 'you' now - but count me in if you like and if the roaster is still open ;)
