National holiday, ER visit, gaming get-together, moving, bar-b-q, and lots of sleep.
Well, Friday night Jenn and I finally got out joint checking account setup at Tower, so we can both put money in there to pay bills. Then we ended up going to Red Hot & Blue for dinner. I love that place.
Saturday was a little different, however. While Jenn was sleeping, I went off and helped Dave Moy move to his new place out in Eldersburg (I don't envy him his new commute, but he says it isn't too bad). Justin and I ended up having to take a detour to pick up his car at the dealer, and while on our way there, Dave called to tell us that he didn't need our help anymore. So I just dropped Justin off and went home. I was happy to be able to catch Jenn before she left for work. I didn't think I'd make it home that early. I hate not being home before she leaves; I just like being there to say goodbye when she heads off into the city.
I spent most of the night sitting in the den, tinkering on my computer and watching Comedy Central (South Park marathon!). Jenn called later that night just worn out and sick of work. Then she called again around 1am-1:30am saying that she was feeling pretty bad and wanted me to come take her home. I asked her what was wrong and she said her heart was pounding and she was feeling faint. I think I managed to convince her to head down to the ER (she already works in a hospital), but either way, her supervisor wouldn't let her go home without going through the ER first. I arrived at the ER just past 2am, signed in, and headed for the room she was in. She was pretty wiped out when I saw her, and her pulse was around the high 120's - low 130's IIRC. Apparently, it had spiked at around 140 earlier that night. After a little monitoring and a visit from a doctor, they gave her fluids and just let her rest some. By the time we left (around 5am, give or take), her pulse was down to the high 90's and her BP was decent (for her). On the way home, I laid down the law (or at least I thought I did LOL). I told her flat out that she was not allowed to do any work around the apartment and that she was to do nothing but rest. Luckily, she agreed with me.
It's almost scary how much I can see my parents in the two of us, or at least my father in me. I've seen my parents have conversations along a similar vein a number of times before. And I know I've seen my father try to stop my mother from doing household work just so she would take a break on many occasions.
Anyways, Jenn has a doctor's appointment this afternoon (which she had already before the ER visit). Hopefully, we'll get a better idea of what's going on. At first we thought it might be mono (because Jenn's sister did have it recently, I think). Now Jenn isn't so sure. Personally, I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised if Jenn was just super-stressed. She thinks otherwise, but I know how she can get sometimes. Whatever it is, I think we've both come to the definite conclusion that she needs to get out of the medical profession, which is easier said than done thanks to the money she makes. I think she'd be taking a step in the right direction by just getting out of direct patient care, but she's thinking she's going to be out entirely. I honestly don't know if she'd be able to find something she'd at least be able to tolerate while trying to get through school and still be able to help me pay the bills (or at least for her car). Then again, I'm not one to talk either. I still haven't finished school myself.
Monday wasn't too bad. We went out to her grandmother's place and just hung around and played games (eventually).. I managed to wrangle a win from behind in Trivial Pursuit, one of the games of Clue (Simpsons version), and a couple of the hands of Fluxx. I think Jenn isn't used to having a worthy opponent around. ;-)
Jenn wasn't feeling to well most of the day, and being bugged by her brother certainly didn't help any. After laying down for a while, though, she started feeling a little better. We went back to our place afterwards and she watched a few episodes of Trading Spaces while I was slipping in and out of a nodding off state. After that we pretty much crashed, though we did watch Emeril and I almost got though about 150 or so pages of Waylander. I'll finish the book tonight after I take care of today's To Do list that Jenn wrote up for me.
