I love video game bad guys. I'll walk down the stairs, smash a few of their minions, and keep going at a cautious pace until I start getting low on spells and hitpoints. Then I'll go outside the room and back up the stairs, where I'll rest for 8-16 hours. Then I go back down the stairs and continue the process. Apparently, these beings that are living underground have no concept of how exactly these "stair" things work. :)
