Well, they found yet another way to get me to spend money at thier stores.
- 256MB PC133 SDRAM DIMM : $90 - $45 (instant rebate) - $15 (mail-in rebate) = $30
- 80GB ATA-100 7200rpm Seagate Baracuda HD : $139 - $50 (mail-in gift card) = $89
- Icewind Dale : $20
Now if only I could actually get it all to work. Sheesh! After spending about two and a half hours tinkering with it all last night (including removing my problematic PNY GeForce4 Ti 4400 and installing my Voodoo3 3000), I finally got it working stably and went to bed.
Then, when I wake up this morning and turn things back on, everything's crashing again. Heck, /bin/sh on my FreeBSD partition is core dumping (sig. 11). I'm thinking the memory I put into my computer may be faulty. Hopefully I'll find some time to test that out tonight.
At least now I've got my GeForce4 out of the system so I can start working on getting a replacement from the manufacturer.
